Amalthée is a world that never ends.
Born from a dying star, it stills live thanks to Sam, a dormant god making sure of his survival by orchestrating a relentless cycle of sacrifices. Three primal forces, almighty entities, interpret this power differently : to pass it on, to balance it, or to give it back. This disagreement shaped the world’s history, and even its geography…
In this group project, we imagined a universe structured around a Body and Spirit duality : matter and transcendance, order and control. While the Nomads, close to elements, value meritocracy and effort, the Empire impose itself through psychic power. Through these opposed visions, Amalthée always tells the same story : a collapsed power will eventually be reborn somewhere else…
We wrote this World Bible as an assignment for an Environment and Character Design class, by detailing myths, geopolitics, cosmology and key characters. This project allowed me to work on systemic coherence, myth creation, and above all on how to decline a chosen theme through all the layers of an universe.
Can we really break the power cycle, or are we damned to repeat it ?
