Izelvor is a personal project realizes during a one-week intensive workshop at EESAB Brest, with EESAB Rennes, offered by Julien Masson and Erwan Mével.
This game is entirely made of cork and using a wood lathe. It reinvents petanque, but is meant to be played on water, ideally on a beach shore. Every body of water is a a great playground for this game, but the calmer the easier. Every player has two boats to play with, identifiable by its own color. The goal is to reach the buoy, shaped like a rubber ring, which acts as a victory platform. Even if touching this buoy with a boat, or having a boat fall into its center allows the player to win, it doesn’t guarantee a first place. Indeed, each throw that brings the players closer to their goal is giving them (or not) points, depending on which side the boat lands on. If the boat lands with its hull in the water, the player gets one point. On the other hand, if the boat rocks and fall on its other side, no point is given. The final throw gives one point by simply touching the buoy (2 points if it is the first player to reach it), or four points if the boat lands at the center of the platform and stays here.
