Animation work based on a poem by Oliver Goldsmith, The Deserted Village (1770).
The poem was divided in 8 parts, each one was then attributed to a 4-students group, that was told to illustrate the said part by creating papercut silhouettes. I crafted the mountains and participated in the shooting and editing. While I was studying in Ireland for an Erasmus Semester, in an Animation and Motion Design Cursus, I was able to learn some basic skills in different animation types, like stop motion during the making of this animation. Elements were made on Illustrator, then crafted using paper and a laser cutting machine. These elements were then animated (capture of movements, compiled on DragonFrame), and we moved on to editing, and voice recording our poem part for the video. At the end of this project, the 8 different parts were assembled to make a vide with the whole poem.
Final Animation.
